Most days I am either glued to a computer, analyzing data, or hanging out in classrooms. But sometimes, I get to go on field trips! Now, as a teacher, field trips were by far the most exhausting day. When I was asked to attend a field trip to the farm today, I was happy as a pig in, well, you know. We set out on a crisp fall day to a local pumpkin patch to learn about farming and how plants grow. We picked out our own pumpkins, saw some cute and stinky animals, and enjoyed several renditions of “Old MacDonald”. Turns out, field trips as a principal are just as exhausting, but are sweeter as I recognize the gift of being able to take a break from my usual routine!
