An Epigraph from Eavesdropping

My momma always told me to mind my own business and to never eavesdrop. Today though, I purposefully listened in to random conversations to gain a fun snippet. My mom would NOT be proud! The Daily Create posed an assignment where eavesdropping was the name of the game. I was to take a snippet of an overheard conversation and use it to inspire a fun epigraph!

Create Your Own Superhero!

So…Marvel has an exciting app where you can create your own superhero. Select your body, hair, eyes, and even your accessories! Check out my superhero Sagitta. She is a scavenger who liberates the people of Loagnes as they struggle to escape the Pelitch troupe that has invaded their sacred lands.

Clone Yourself!

Have you ever had a day where you wish you could be in two, or even three, places at once? There are days when time flies by, and you are rallying against the clock. Now, with your handy-dandy smartphone, you can clone yourself and be everywhere all at once!

Today I needed to catch up on the tube, read a little zine, and drink a cup of tea. The only problem was, I couldn’t pick how I wanted to relax. So…I decided to do all three! At the same time!

Who said you can’t be in two, or three, places at once? https://flic.kr/p/MNVGk9 #tdc1734 #ds106 #inte5340

A Dollop of Color Please!

I really enjoy perusing Daily Create assignments from ds106. While trying to learn new photography techniques, I came across a fun Daily Create about colorizing a black and white photo. After converting a color photo to black and white, I uploaded the image to Deep Learning powered colorizer to add color back in. I rather prefer the re-colorized image to the original. The warmth creates an atmosphere that is lost in digital photography. Thank goodness for editing software!

The Universal Uniform

To all the gals and guys out there who have their standard evening uniform, you know what I’m talking about. If you are anything like me, the first thing you do when you get home is wash your hands because students are germ farms throw on your favorite pair of pajama pants. Or at the very least, I know you are kicking off those shoes! Comfort is something that I have sought with great persistence since I was a young child. Anything “fozzy”, soft, or really just capable of allowing me to sit crossed legged without hindrance of dreadful seams, has been a staple to my wardrobe.

When I’m in public and a new fabric is in sight, if it seems at all to be a cozy item, I will approach it in the same way I will an irresistible puppy. First, you approach slowly yet with confidence. Second, you reach out your hand and gently touch the fabric. Third, you revel in the squishy wonderful feeling of interacting with a cozy item in public. You can always take it a step further and hoard purchase the cozy item. The difference between a puppy and a nice blanket is the blaring fact that grown women should be able to hold back touching blankets on the shelf at their local store. Puppies, on the other hand, no one should ever outgrow.

Celebrate your comfort tonight my friends! Enjoy that cozy blanket and appreciate the perfect pair of pajamas that welcomes you as you enter the door. And if your significant other is anything like mine, hide all of your compulsive purchases and ease him into it. It is a lifestyle after all. Viva the Cozy!
